Debbie these are pictures from April 1st when we honored Viola Bailie for 30 years of volunteering
Vi had made a statement during the event, that she would not know what she would do if she couldn't come to the Bridge Builders. There were about 50 people in attendance to help her celebrate. Vi began volunteering at the Bridge Builders in 1985 and has been a loyal supporter every since. Wampner stated that Vi just doesn't look around and see things that need attention, she takes action.
Wampner spoke about the little dash and between when we were born and when we die. That little dash states our life. It represents the short time we have, here, to make a difference, or not. And making a difference mean so many different things to so many people. But for you, the volunteer, what you do during that dash is most significant. Wampner told Viola Bailie even after your gone, the Bridge Builders will always honor you on this day April 1st. Wampner presented Vi with an award for going above and beyond and a meal ticket and a certificate, and cake and ice cream.
I’m sure you are aware of the important role that The Licking Bridge Builder’s Senior Center plays in helping people whose lives are impacted by our services. This important work is supported largely by the support of generous donors who contribute to the need of our programs. Our goal is to raise $40,000.00 to build a new Senior Center next to our old building in Licking, MO. We need to build a bigger and better building because ours is badly in need of too many repairs. Without the continued support of generous donors like you, these needs will likely go unmet.
Licking Bridge Builder’s, Inc. is now cooking meals at our facility and operating on its own without government assistance. We are able to be open 5 days a week from 7 am to 4 pm for seniors to come early and enjoy some coffee and stay for lunch which is served from 11 am to 1 pm. Our cost is a suggested donation of $4.00 per person. Please check our website – www.lickingbb.com -- to see the many activities we have available and all the fun going on at the center.
In order to continue to make a difference in the lives of individuals affected by our work at the Senior Center, it is vital for our campaign to be a success. Our goal is to make a difference in the lives of the Seniors in our area. Can we count on you to make a donation to this important cause? By making a tax deductible donation to our campaign, you’ll be directly contributing to Seniors who are looking for a place to go daily to meet with others to eat, play games, or just socialize for a little while.
The Licking Bridge Builders, Inc. is a non-profit organization 501(c)(3) and your donation will be tax deductible. Your donation will also help you to have a tax write-off, if you need one.
A stamped self-addressed envelope is included for your convenience. If you wish, you may fill out the pledge section attached at the end of this letter with the stipulation that it will need to be paid by June 30, 2015. The pledge card or a donation now can also be made In Honor of or In Memory of someone you want to remember.
Thanking you in advance for your support.
THE LICKING BRIDGE BUILDERS, INC.
